Mercury is a pretty girl, about 2 years old. She has white, grey and orange patches, making her a cute calico. Mercury was abandoned in an apartment, then she was fortunate enough to be rescued and brought to a wonderful foster family. Mercury loves to play! Her favorite toys are anything round. Toss a ball and watch her scamper after it. She also loves feather wand toys. Give her plenty of playtime every day to work off a bit of energy. Mercury is also a sweet, friendly girl. She’s affectionate but isn’t really a lap cat. Mercury isn’t a shy girl, and she gets along with just about everyone. Because she’s a playful cat, Mercury will do best in a busy home with other cats and dogs. She likes other cats and is very confident, so a shy kitty might not be the best fit for her. But she quickly settles into her new surroundings. Mercury likes dogs and will do well with playful dogs who like cats. She ignores the fish tank in her foster home, which is great news for its inhabitants! Mercury will do well with children who are a bit older. And she will thrive with multiple people who give her attention and play with her. Mercury will likely enjoy a tall cat tree for climbing and scratching. If it’s near a window, she can watch the neighborhood activity too. Mercury has 2 things her new family needs to be aware of. She needs to receive her vaccinations separately. She once had a fever after she got 2 different vaccines at one vet visit. The second thing to monitor are her kidneys. When conducting an ultrasound to check for possible pregnancy, the vet saw cysts on her kidneys. This situation remains unchanged, which is great news. The vet recommends rechecking her kidneys every 6 months to start. She shows every sign of being a happy, healthy cat who just needs a nice home. Mercury is a sweet girl who is fun and entertaining. After being abandoned all alone, she is going to be happy to have a loving, engaging family to call her own. Our adoption team is available during and after the transition period to make sure our adopters and our cats are happy together! |
