Chopper needs a low traffic single owner home with an owner who will be extremely patient with him. He LOVES his people, but has a hard time adjusting to new enviornments and people. He has been at the shelter for about 2 years now. He was orignally adopted from us at 8 months old and was returned due to lacking socialization. He is about 6 years old now. He should be in an animal and child free home.
Eli is a 7 year old Beagle who needs a special home! Eli is very weary of new people. He easily becomes overwhelmed and can act out when uncomfortable. He does have a bite history due to his fearfulness of new people. He needs a low traffic single owner home. He does get along with other dogs his size, but would not do well with cats or children. His owners were forced to move to low income housing, where Eli was not allowed. He has been at the shelter since early 2018.
Luke was originally surrendered to a kill shelter in SC. He is weary of new people and does not like when peole do not allow him to adjust at his own speed. He needs a low traffic adult only home with a fenced in yard. He would do best as an only animal, but we would be willing to do a meet and greet to the perfect home. He should not be in a home with cats or children. Luke does have a bite history due to people moving too fast with him. He enjoys being active and being left alone at times.
DIESEL NEEDS AN ANIMAL AND CHILD FREE HOME. HE DOES SHOW SIGNS OF RESOURCE GUARDING. HE WOULD BENEFIT FROM A FENCED YARD, LOW TRAFFIC HOME, AND FIRM OWNER.
Paige(P) Jimmy (J) 1) Name: (P)Hi Paige momma bun, and this is my adorable son Jimmy! ........ (J) Hi 2) Favorite activity with Hoomins: (P) Well let's see treats are great! But if my Hoomin has a couch I could see being a couch bunny! I could sit up their and watch them while they bring me food! (J) Ummmm. Hoomins are ok if they have food. 3) Ideal Hoomin/Family: (P) My new hoomins would have to love me and pet me a lot! They would have to be patient with my son he's a little shy! (J) I would like hoomins that would leave me alone or get to know me on my terms. Maybe just hang out in my space so I can observe them and interact when I'm ready. 4) Ideal Housing: (P) Listen I just want to let you know that we have a whole room at our foster hoomins house so you will have to better or at least a room for me and my little boy! The whole house would be ideal we are very good bunnies and are pretty big so we need room to stretch and play. (J) I would like some hidey holes if that's ok, if you don't mind. I also like to climb but I don't want to be a bother. 5) Relationship Status: (P) Family is everything! It's just me and my boy, we don't need any other bunnies in our family but we have room for some Hoomins. (J) I love my Mommy so much! She always keeps me safe!! Paige and Jimmy are mom and son. They were rescued by one of our rabbiteers from an abandoned apartment building. They were spotted several times wondering the streets in a rough neighborhood, eating garbage or whatever they could find. When she and a few good hearted bunny lovers did finally catch them, except for being dirty and hungry, they were surprisingly healthy. They have never been apart, except for being spayed and neutered. They are both very sweet. Paige doesn't mind being loved on or picked up. Jimmy is shy but we think it's a trust issue and does eventually come around. They both enjoy being out in our secure playground, runny and binking, just being happy bunnies. They are our oldest residence at the rabbitat. They desperately deserve a home. They are a larger breed rabbit. Unfortunately they have been returned after being adopted 2 short months. The owner is having medical issue. Hopefully they will find a new home soon.
1) Name: Hello I'm Cinders 2) Favorite activity with Hoomin: I don't even know any more. I have been at Blue Chip for so long what are the hoomins even into these days? I appreciate a good petting but you have to catch me first. I guess my favorite thing to do with a hoomin might be eat bananas. Hoomins still like bananas right? 3) Ideal Hoomin/Family: Well since I've been thinking about it I would like one that buys bananas! And understands that I don't always want to be petted and tries to brush me when I need it even if I don't want to because it does feel so good when you're done! I think the most important thing is that you would be my forever hoomin!! I promise I am a great guy! 4) Ideal Housing: Hmmm... I would like some hidey holes and maybe a whole room to play in! I know the other buns all want a whole house but as long as my hoomins spent time with me a room would be enough. But a whole house to explore does sound like fun now that I think about it. 5) Relationship Status: The hoomins have tried to set me up with nearly every girl here!! but I think the little lion head in the next cage seems ok she's not crazy active like some of the other bunnies! Cinders is very shy. He had a tough start in life and is slow trust anyone. We've been working on socializing him and he has gotten better but we think he would do better in a quiet home with kind humans and other pets.
1) Name: Jaws Stop That Jazz Man 2) Favorite activity with Hoomin: Well I like watching Hoomins, they are odd and fascinating creatures! I used to be scared of them, things weren't always great before Blue Chip, but these ones seem harmless. 3) Ideal Hoomin/Family: I would like a gentle but decisive hoomin. These ones can't seem to decide on a name for me. When I first got here I was scared then they gave me a girls name! So now I'm terrified and I'm ashamed to say I got a little defensive and bitey so they called me Jaws. Well now they seem to have settled on Jazz but I don't know. Just pick something hoomins!! 4) Ideal Housing: Well me and my girl are both big bunnies so we would like to be free roam bunnies. 5) Relationship Status: Hoppily married to the beautiful Kaylee. Jazz is young and full of energy. he is approximately 1 1/2 years old. He has recently bonded with his neighbor, Kaylee and they are furever in love and on their bunnymoon. If your interested in meeting this special pair please fill out an adoption application and someone will contact you or send an email to bluechiprabbitat@gmail,com with any questions you may have. We will definately be in touch.
1) Name: Kaylee 2) Favorite activity with Hoomin: I do love pets, just rub me everywhere! 3) Ideal Hoomin/Family: Well they would have to love big bunnies and be ok with my ears (I'm a little self conscious about them, but Jazz says they are perfect). And be patient with my husbun, he is a little suspicious of new hoomins but don't worry he warms up quickly and is soooo sweet 4) Ideal Housing: Well I'm sure Jazzy told you we would like the whole house. I like the idea of climbing the furniture and running and binking through the halls!! We are big buns but once you love us you will never be able to go back to those tiny things. They look like Guinea Pigs! Nope surprise your friends with us!! 5) Relationship Status: Madly in love with my Jazzy! He was a bad boy when when I first met him but like all the tough guys he was scared and is super sweet!! I can't tell you how happy he makes me!! Kaylee is a wonderful girl. She is a big bunny but don't let her size sway you. She fun and loving, shy at first. She had a rough beginning but is now happy and in love with her neighbor Jazz. She has been at the shelter for awhile and really needs a home she can call her own. Kaylee and Jazz will make an awesome addition Ato any bunny loving home. If your have room in your heart for these two special furbabies please fill out an application. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
This is Bowser! He is a 4 year old 70lb Mixed Breed. He is a ball of energy and love, who hates his kennel! He has been with us for over 6 months! Bowser seems to be dog selective, mostly due to his energy level & dominance. He would do best with teenagers or adults only, as he can easily knock a young child over. He loves to go on runs, walks, and run around in yards! He would benefit from a fenced yard or an active family. He is leash trained for the most part, but needs a few minutes to calm down, as he is excited! He seems to be both house and crate trained, but may not need to be crated while at home due to his age and demeanor. He has SO MUCH personality! He loves to play and be around his people. We know he would always make sure his family is kept entertained!
EXPERIENCED GERMAN SHEPHERD OWNER NEEDED Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 5 year old German Shepherd (turning 6 in October) who has been with us a few months. We have learned so much about Blitz over the past few weeks and have special requirements for him to be happy in his new home. Blitz is a great dog who is housetrained, knows basic commands, and rides well in the car. Blitz needs a home with no other animals, no kids, and a low traffic home with 1-2 members in the household. He should be put away when visitors come over as he bonds with his people and takes time warming up to new people. Blitz has bonded with a handful of volunteers and loves playing ball. Blitz seems to prefer males over females since he lived with one man his entire life. German Shepherd or large dog experience would be great. Blitz currently weighs around 90lbs and needs a strong owner. Please apply at www.bcfanimalrefuge.org/adopt if Blitz sounds like a good fit for you. Please note we will only process applications for Blitzs that meet the requirements below: -Large 6ft fenced in yard -No other pets or kids -Low traffic home with 1-2 adults only -Must be willing to meet with Blitz a few times before adopting
This handsome hound is a 2 year old Coonhound mix. He is good with other dogs, but needs a child & cat free home. Jasper needs a home with a strong owner who can help this stubborn boy become the perfect pup we know he can become! He was never trained as a puppy, so he does not understand that he is no longer a little guy. He does not like his toys or food touched, but he respects our volunteers (who are strict) when they play fetch with him. He is a very goofy boy who simply needs to learn right from wrong. He would be the PERFECT running partner, as he loves to exercise. He would do best with a fenced yard.
Special dog looking for a special person!! Meet Taffy! Taffy is a gorgeous year and a half old shepherd/hound mix, that unfortunately had a pretty rough start at life. Taffy was never properly socialized, and therefore suffers from what we call stranger danger. Taffy takes awhile to warm up to new people, and does not trust easily. Once she does trust you though, she is the sweetest girl in the whole world who just wants to be loved. Taffy is looking for a calm home that will crate her when company is over. She would also do best in a home with either older or no kids, and another confident dog to show her the world isnt such a scary place. Taffys Likes: - Soft chewy treats - Butt scratches - Giving paw - Cuddling - Being told how pretty she is - Medium/Large sized dogs Taffys Dislikes: - Strangers - Loud noises - Being told cuddle time is over - The dark Taffy does warm up to women more quickly than men. She is also muzzle trained in order to help with her introductions with new people! Taffy is a dog that would require multiple meets prior to going home with you, but I can promise you she is so worth the extra work.
Millie is a 2 year young Coonhound Rottweiler. Growing up, she was not socialized, which resulted in her fearing life. She needs time to bond to people, but once she does, she is extremely loyal. Due to her fearfulness, she would excel in a one person home for the time being. She needs time to learn that the world is not as terrifying as she currently believes it is. She previously has lived with other dogs, but seems to be more content when she is the only animal in the home. She needs a child free home, and at the time - a low to no traffic home as well. Millie is extremely sweet, playful, and loving once she trusts you. With some patience, treats, and love, we know she can be your best friend!

N) Food!!! 5) Relationship Status: N) unfortunately we are a package deal although this one is not as much fun as I am! But I guess we all can't be this amazing!!
