Seven years chained outside. Rescued by Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. Adopted into a loving home. This is his story.
Rescued 2018 · Passed away February 13, 2025 · Forever loved
"I adopted him April 2018. He passed away on February 13th, 2025 after suffering from Cushing's Disease. I miss him everyday."
— Jim, Titan's adopterSeven year old Titan was left outside year round, tethered with a chain for years. He endured heat, cold, rain, and snow — alone, with no shelter and no companionship. His world was the length of that chain.
Then Griffin Pond Animal Shelter stepped in. Titan was rescued, brought into the shelter, and given the care he'd been denied for so long. He was fostered by a family who showed him what life inside a home could be — a warm bed, regular meals, and people who actually wanted him around.
In April 2018, Jim adopted Titan and brought him home to Dallas, Pennsylvania. For the first time in his life, Titan had a family. He had a chair — his chair — where he'd curl up and watch the world go by. He had a yard to run in, not at the end of a chain, but free. He had someone who loved him.
Titan lived his best years with Jim. Every day was the life he should have had from the beginning. He was happy. He was home.
On February 13, 2025, Titan passed away after a battle with Cushing's Disease. He was surrounded by the love he deserved all along.
Titan's story is why PetsOnBoard.com exists. Since 1995, we've worked to connect shelter animals with loving families — because every animal deserves the chance Titan got. Not every story starts this hard, but every adoption changes a life.
Right now, there are dogs and cats in shelters across Northeastern Pennsylvania waiting for their chance. You can be their Titan story.
